LA FERME SAINT SIMON owes its name to the fact that
it is sited in 6, Saint-Simon streeet in the 7th
The previous name (Bougnat of the Chamber) was also a twinkle in its
geographical situation but also to the origins and activities of the
first owners, from Auvergne region, who had made their trade in restaurants
and cafés but also as marchants of coal from which comes the
name : “Bougnat de la Chambre”. You can see in the restaurant
two ancient photographies of this epoch.
The Chamber was of course in reference to the Chamber of Deputies (House
of Commons) located nearby.
